As a rule, Troop Meetings follow decisions made by the School District. Since school was let out due to the weather, we will follow and cancel the troop meeting for tonight.

Numbers for this experience are limited. It will be offered to the FIRST 25 scouts who send in the registration including the fee. If more register, they will consider repeating the class at a second event.

January 26- $15 Registration fee for 2010 BSA due.....haven't paid for Recharter, do so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!

February 16- Camp Old Indian $20 deposit due......haven't paid? do so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE [Keep dates open(July 25-31)]

Cost:$20(if paid by March 9...after $22) Includes $10 district fee, meals, and patch.

Competitions: Instructions will only be given to patrol leader to relay to patrols. Part of the competition includes ability of patrol leader to lead the patrol in each event and how well the patrol works together, completeness of activity, time to complete and overall Scout Spirit!! Events include tent pitching, hatchet throwing, log pull, fire building, and first aid. Points also for participation in service project, campsite inspection(gateway, flags, troop identification, first aid kit, hand washing station, camp gadget(s), fire buckets, dining fly, axe yard, rope, tools)...adults compete in dutch oven cook-off.

First, I apologize for not getting this out before now, but I am afraid it slipped up on me. Summer Camp at Camp Old Indian is scheduled for the last week of July, July 25- July 31. Check your calendars, and if you want to go, get the $20 deposit (to be applied towards the $190 fee) to me tomorrow night if at all possible. I have to get it to Greenville by Friday. This is a great opportunity to learn skills and earn merit badges. It is a great experience for the boys and the leaders have fun too!

What a wonderful morning!! The Girl Scout Troop, a few from Pack 280 and a good showing from Troop 280 led to many great comments from the church members. I hope you all came away with the feeling of how much the church supports us and wants us to succeed in our respective programs. It is amazing to me how they support us when we have no members or leaders who go to the church, but they overwhelmingly do!! Thanks to all that came including family members. It was a good day.
