TUESDAY, MAY 21
OA Elections
We plan to do the OA election this Tuesday- please be in your best uniform. I have not heard back from the election team but I am hoping they are still planning to be there. We need at least 5 scouts present in order to proceed with the election, so hope you all can make it.
Meeting
After the OA election, scouts need to finalize meal planning and duty rosters for next weekend's campout at Arrowhead. You will also need to decide who the GRUBMASTER will be so that scout can do the food shopping for the meals. Finally, we will also need to plan the Court of Honor for next Tuesday, May 25.
CAMP PROVIDENCE Service Project
Sorry our service project for Camp Providence got rained out. They plan on trying again Saturday, June 1, in case any of you can help.
May Outing-Camp Arrowhead
I have secured Camp Arrowhead for Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-26. Ben Willis will be teaching the Fishing Merit Badge, so bring your bait and tackle. The Permission form is attached and I am estimating the cost to be $15 per scout for food. We will meet at the church at 5:00 pm and hope to get to the camp by 6:30.
June Outing
Our June outing will be Chau Ram on the last weekend in June. I have already invited Webelos from Pack 280 and they plan to let me know this week if they can come. We will hope to get them to come to a meeting before the camp to plan menus and duty rosters.
CAMP OLD INDIAN
Don't forget to get your medical forms, including part C from your physician, as soon as possible. I will also need a front/back copy of insurance cards and your merit badge choices. Soon, I will let you know the balance of the $210 needed for camp (minus deposit and camp card earnings).

Troop Meeting - Tuesday, May 14
Sorry I missed this week's eblast. I was celebrating Mother's Day with my mom and she doesn't have Internet and her home is in the one dead spot for Verizon Service. Anyhow, I hope you were all good to your Mothers on her special day!!
OA
I contacted the OA and they were unable to commit to this Tuesday, but think they will be able to get a team out on the 21st. So think about whether you want to put your name in the pot for the OA election, NEXT Tuesday, and let me know. You have to be First Class and have 15 nights camping within the last 2 years, only counting Summer Camp once.
This Tuesday
This Tuesday, we will try to do some requirements for the Camping Merit Badge and discuss what other badges you might want to work on.
I still need physical forms from those going to camp, copies of f/b insurance cards, and your Merit Badge Class choices.

Service Project Possibilities
Camp Providence:
This Saturday, May 18, 9:00.....Please come and support this worthwhile charity and help get the camp ready for these special kids!! Bring workgloves!!
Cub Scout Day Camp:
June 17-21, any day/everyday, 8:30-4:30. They mainly need Den Chiefs to help Den Leaders with the Scouts. They want scouts to be 14 or older to work waterfront or the shooting ranges. This is a GREAT opportunity. If interested, pick up a form from me Tuesday and fill it out. 

Camp Cards
Camp Card money and / or unused cards are due this Tuesday. Please bring them to the meeting or let me know if there is a problem. I have to get them turned in this week.

PLC Meeting and Committee Meeting 6:00 pm
Committee needs to touch base on upcoming events, including Summer Camp, and OA elections. I will TRY to send out an agenda before Tuesday.
PLC Meeting will be led by SPL and they will be planning meetings/events for May and June. PLC needs to decide on what to concentrate on since the majority of scouts have completed First Class and will now be entering the Leadership concentration of Scouting.....Maybe some leadership activities? The Resource book will be handy in making some of these decisions. 
Regular Troop Meeting @ 7:00 pm
Scouts will pack up the tents left out to dry and then follow SPL's lead. We could possibly knock out a couple more requirements for the Camping Merit Badge. 

May has been a challenge so far as our outing...Due to leadership issues, we have canceled the May 17-19 outing to Chau-Ram and opted to try for Camp Arrowhead for Memorial Weekend, May 24 - 26. Fortunately, it was not booked and I have secured it for that weekend. This move does free the scouts up for the service project at Camp Providence on the 18th, so I hope we will have a good showing for it. It will be a good start on the 6 hours of service needed toward STAR rank for those who have recently earned their First Class. I apologize for those who may not be able to change their schedules for Memorial Weekend and want you to know you will be missed!! Those who like to fish, do come prepared with bait and tackle!!
